
Rocky Moran is a keyboardist, vocalist, arranger who resides in Orange County, California. His music is a blend of Latin Jazz, Cuban Music, R&B and standards.
Rocky has been performing in and around Southern California for many years. Two of the biggest names in Cuban music, Arsenio Rodriguez and Miguelito Valdez were Rocky's major influence. In the early sixties, he worked alongside these giants absorbing all he could. Other influences included: Cal Tjader, Ramsey Lewis, Machito, Willie Bobo, Benny More and Tito Rodriguez. He's been a fan of Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Joe Turner and Ray Charles.
In early 1990, Rocky began to experiment with computer electronic music and to this day has become well known in this field, creating and copying MIDI projects for many groups in the LA, Orange and San Diego counties of Southern California.
Rocky is a native of Tegucigalpa, Honduras and has spent years in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and Central America working for Asian companies.
Rocky is presently working on a CD, a compilation of standard favorites with the Latin Jazz accent and a few original projects of his own.
