-Curtis Funderburk was born on August 29,
1964 in San Francisco Ca. His first musical influence was a gentleman by
the name of James Edwards, who was a jazz/Gospel drummer. As a young man
he wanted to learn more about drummers and their technique. At a young
age his family, friends and teachers encouraged him to learn more about
great drummers and check out there many styles. Some of his many
influences are: Max Roach, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, Gene Krupa, Cozy
Cole, Louie Bellson, Carter Beauford, Billy Cobham, Steve Smith, Poppa
Joe, Jones, Jonathan Sugarfoot moffett, Dennis Chambers, Art Blakey, and
John Blackwell Sr. and Jr.With a Gospel background Curtis soon, learned
to incorporate these new styles of play, into his own style. His new
style also helped out with R&B, ROCK, Neo-Soul, blue grass, smooth jazz
and Dance. As he got older he discovered new talent and bands in the
surrounding bay area. He became the backbeat of a local band in San Jose
California, called HORCHATA where they released there first single on
Green Gorilla records. Also, did several live recording with Gospel
artist such as The Clarke Sisters, Darrell Colley, The Hawkins Singers,
and a host of other bay area recording artists. In 1992, Curtis did some
work for MC-Hammer as a back-up drummer, that later helped him in
getting local gigs in the bay area. Currently playing in a band with
musicians, who each have over 30 years of experience, is truly a
blessing in disguise. His style of play and experience truly brings the
solid backbeat that every band desires. |

Ron
Estrada -
Guitars and Basses.
Ron Estrada started playing in the early 60's and was influenced by Surf
Music, The Ventures, The Beatles and Motown/R&B. He played with "The
Jokers" and "Crossroads" during these formative years.
With the surge of Latin Jazz and Rock in the 70's he formed his own band
"Estrada's Natural Band" in 1978. The band played various clubs around
the Bay Area. They were together until 1985. Some of the members
included Benny Vallarde (Cal Tjader) and Bruce Unsworth (Pride and Joy).
After disbanding he started playing on the Blues and R&B scene. He
played with the Lisa Kindred Blues Band and The George Gregory Band from
1986 to1990 playing clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. He filtered
down to the South Bay Blues scene where he joined The Michael Osborne
Band from 1991 to 1995. The band performed at the 1993 Monterey Jazz
Festival, the 1994 Saratoga Wine Festival and a six week European Tour
of seven countries in 1994. He joined up with The Fog City Band playing
Funk, Soul, Rhythm and Blues from 1994 to 1999. At the end of 1998 Ron
did a few gigs with Rudy Ramirez. In passing Rudy mentioned about
finding a bassist that could play more Latin flavored than the other
Rock and Jazz bassists that their band was going through. Ron said he
used to play in the Latin style and Rudy invited him to come jam. The
jam turned out to be with several members of Mambo Street. While jamming
in San Mateo Ron met A. Keith Jones which later led to sessions with the
"Inoahband" being the lead Guitar while Keith would play bass & vice
versa.
